Blogs, Diarys, Journals

In case you hadn’t noticed there seems to be a popular pastime at the moment that involves writing about yourself and showing it to the whole world in the faint hope that someone somewhere may find it interesting. Blogging , I think it’s called. Apparently there are only a few billion of us doing it at the moment and if we wanted to get together in person for a good old chin wag we would need something a little bigger than the recently closed ‘Party Zone’ at the recently closed ‘McDs’ (Yeah!) in Crystal Palace to meet in. So we never meet, well rarely. I know Jon a little and Justine even less, but I have met them and read their blogs often. Patrick I’ve definitely met. His whole family stayed at my flat a few weeks ago and confused the cats. And my mum, yes I’ve definitely met her, although not for a few weeks. She’s the only 85 year old I know with a blog and she updates hers more than I do mine. But I seem to go through fazes with things, like most people I guess. At the moment I’m reading Samuel Pepys’ Diary (well I’m only on the first of 9 books) and it’s wonderful. Personal, honest, funny & you get a great sense of life in London 350 years ago. It feels a little odd occasionally jumping between that and a blog about a London ambulance driver or a 24 year old office worker but I guess that’s what life is. fluid. You jump around picking up little pieces of information and experiences and you brain joins it altogether later. Normally while sleeping on the bus, which can cause great confusion when you wake up.

I don’t normally write such long entries, I usually just have images of things seen out of the corner of the eye. The quite corners of life can be interesting.

Anyway, I just wanted to add these 2 new blogs to my list of ‘Blogs whatz I find good’

They caught my attention, one is well known and is now in book form the other I have no idea but I find it compelling. They are both about life in London. Now, not 350 years ago, but there are similarities. People change slowly, the technology much faster.

This is what they say about themselves.
Blue soup
This blog is home to the rants and daily ponderings of a (possibly unhinged) 24-year old woman. Mainly about: commuting, London, love, rants, trains, things that don’t really have a category…

Randon Acts Of Reality
a Blog based in London, England, written by an E.M.T working for the London Ambulance Service. Also, number one search result for “Womble porn”. All names have be changed to protect the guilty. This Blog was previously known as “Why I Hate Humanity” but the antipsychotic medication seems to have kicked in.

Enjoy.
